Prefers bright, indirect light: This is the ideal condition for the plant to thrive. A spot near an east- or north-facing window, or a few feet back from a south- or west-facing window, works well. The golden underside of the leaves is most vibrant in good light.
Can tolerate some direct sun: A mature, well-acclimated plant can handle a few hours of direct morning sun. However, intense, hot afternoon sun can scorch the delicate leaves.
Low light tolerance: While it can survive in lower light, its growth will be slower, and it may not produce as many figs.
Keep the soil consistently moist, but not soggy: The Mistletoe Fig likes its soil to be lightly moist. Water when the top 1-2 inches of the soil feel dry to the touch.
Avoid overwatering: Overwatering is a common cause of root rot. Make sure the pot has good drainage to prevent water from accumulating at the bottom.
Reduce watering in winter: The plant’s growth slows in the cooler months, so it will need less frequent watering.
