The ‘Antje’ variety is known for its lilac flowers. In general, Mammillaria gracilis flowers are small, bell-shaped, and creamy white. They often bloom in a ring around the top of the stem during the spring and late summer or autumn.
‘Mammillaria gracilis’ ‘Antje’ thrives in bright, indirect sunlight to full sun. It should receive at least 4-6 hours of sunlight daily for optimal growth. If kept indoors, a south or west-facing window is ideal. It’s important to protect it from harsh, direct sunlight during the hottest parts of the day to prevent scorching.
This cactus is drought-tolerant and sensitive to overwatering, which can lead to root rot. Use the “soak and dry” method: water thoroughly, but only after the soil has completely dried out. In the winter, during its dormant period, water much less frequently or not at all.
