Leaves Glossy, leathery, and green, often clustered toward the tips of the branches. They are typically deciduous (shedding leaves) during its winter dormancy or periods of cold/drought.
Large, trumpet-shaped flowers with five spreading petals. They typically bloom in vibrant shades of pink, red, white, and numerous bi-colored or double-petaled hybrid varieties. They usually bloom profusely in the warm, active growing season.
Requires full, bright sun (at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day) for optimal growth and flowering.
 It is drought-tolerant. Water thoroughly during the active growing season (spring and summer), allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings.
